Course Overview

Held as a live remote event using Zoom video conferencing.

This course covers the foundations of blood taking practice in adults. It forms a sound theory base before you begin to practice under supervision in your workplace. The course content is based on the WHO Guidelines on Drawing Blood: Best practices for Phlebotomy and covers all the theory you will need to know to perform evidence-based practice. It will start you on your journey to becoming competent and help you to work out where you need to go next to gain this highly sought-after skill.

This course is suitable for anyone who needs to take blood within their role, including nurses, doctors, pharmacists, health care support workers and administration staff. It can be taken by complete beginners, but even experienced phlebotomists will learn something new and will help with updating knowledge.
