This course gives an insight into the advanced practice of x-ray evaluation of musculoskeletal injuries and other bone and joint abnormalities. The subjects are introduced within a usable format to encourage a standardisation of evaluating images and allow the student an increase in confidence in verbalising observations.
The course will be of interest to Nurses, Paramedics, Physiotherapists and Allied Health Professionals working in an Urgent Care setting.
The teaching and learning within this module should enable students to demonstrate the necessary skills and professional abilities to carry out clinical commenting of the appendicular and axial skeleton appropriate to their scope of practice.
Study will include advanced anatomy and pathophysiology of the Axial and Appendicular skeleton giving the student enriched knowledge to anticipate pathology and gain confidence in applying and verbalising this knowledge in the clinical setting.
