Head injury is a common presentation at Walk in Centres and Emergency Departments, and varies from the trivial to the life threatening. This course provides a structured approach to the head injured patient, using nationally approved assessment tools such as the Glasgow Coma Scale, NICE guidelines, and ALSG recommendations. Theory is interspersed with clinical examples, practical sessions, and discussions.
The course is designed for Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs), Triage Nurses, Allied Health Professionals and Foundation Year Doctors working in an acute care setting. It will also be of use to sports medicine practitioners such as physiotherapists and paramedics.
