Workshop benefits:

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is a structured method used to analyze adverse events. It can be used for any event, drug errors, falls, incidents of pressure ulcers and it can be used to help deal with complaints. When incidents happen, it is important that lessons are learned to prevent the same incident occurring elsewhere. RCA investigation is a well recognised way of doing this.

 

Workshop objectives:

This is an interactive workshop based on case studies. The objectives of the workshop are to enable participants to:

  • Understand the importance of Root Cause Analysis
  • Understand the importance of carrying out an effective RCA
  • Identify where to collect information from
  • Write a timeline
  • Develop an action plan
  • Identify what to include in a report
