This half-day workshop will enable learners to develop their knowledge and skills in relation to moving and handling. It will identify the employers and employees role in protecting themselves from the risk of injury from manual handling in the workplace.
This half day course is intended as an introduction to moving and handling for new staff, for those staff returning to work or who need specific training in manual handling, as well as being a suitable knowledge update.

To identify what is manual handling is
To understand the current legislation affecting moving and handling of heavy loads/people
To identify both employer and employee responsibilities in maintaining a safe working environment
To understand the principles of safe manual handling
To apply a relevant risk assessment when undertaking manual handling techniques
To demonstrate the correct handling of loads
