OVERVIEW

A course aimed at Nurses and other allied health care professionals including junior Doctors in training, who are actively involved in the care of implantable devices ranging from simple loop recorders through to complex Biventricular devices.  The course will cover the essential underpinning knowledge to effectively manage the patient throughout the life cycle of the device.

ECG interpretation of both bradycardic and tachycardia rhythms

Indications for temporary pacing

Modalities of temporary pacing

Optimising the setup of temporary pacing boxes

Trouble shooting temporary pacing systems

AIMS AND OUTCOMES

  • Understand and utilise the data from implantable devices.
  • Trouble shoot devices and take the appropriate action
