Mechanism of injury general principles of musculoskeletal trauma

Assessment of injury look, feel move examination Indications for radiography

Musculo-skeletal injury and management

Review of anatomy and physiology and healing of bone and soft connective tissue

Shoulder and upper limb: - Hip and lower limb

Management of common fractures

Head, neck and back: - Level of consciousness: GCS, NICE (SIGN in Scotland) head injury guidelines

Ophthalmic and ENT common presenting conditions and their management

Minor wounds and burns

Review of anatomy: wound closure, healing and appropriate dressings

Legal and professional responsibility
