AIMS AND OUTCOMES

At the end of this course the learners will acquire the knowledge and skills that will make them capable to:

  • Identify and discuss indications for HFNO.
  • Recognise the advantages, contraindications and cautions of HFNO therapy.
  • Identify the necessary steps to start HFNO therapy.
  • Monitor the patient receiving HFNO therapy and understand how HFNO therapy settings can be controlled.
  • Identify safety precautions and actions needed in case of equipment failure.
  • Understand the importance of adequate management, escalation and multidisciplinary approach required for the success of HFNO therapy.
  • Recognise the indications and criteria for therapy weaning and or discontinuation.
