AIMS AND OUTCOMES

  • Perform spirometry to get accurate and reproducible results
  • Recognise and rectify errors in a patients performance
  • Understand the need and have the ability to perform routine calibration and quality control
  • Effectively report the findings of spirometric testing
  • Recognise the most common contraindications to testing
  • Understand and recognise patterns of lung disease in relation to the patients clinical history
