Anatomy, physiology and function of the genito-urinary tract
Urological assessment
The implications of abnormal urinalysis
Benign prostatic hypertrophy – medical and surgical management
Urinary stone disease
Diseases of the male genitals
Continence problems and management
Urological cancers: renal, bladder, prostate, testis
Male sexual dysfunction
Male and female catheterisation and care of the catheterised patient
Assessment of residual urine volume using bladder ultrasound

Aims/Outcomes

  • Enhanced understanding of the urological system, disorders and dysfunction
  • Develop patient management skills
  • Understand the need for catheterisation and bladder ultrasound
