Moving and Handling Update
• Current legislation affecting moving and handling of heavy loads/people
• Employer and employee responsibilities in maintaining a safe working environment
• Review of anatomy of the spine, causes of back pain
• Risk Assessment. Promoting patient independence
• Principles of safe manual handling. Correct handling of loads
Health & Safety Update
• Infection control
• Fire safety
• Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
