Introduction:
There have been a number of projects and papers, such as ‘Hospital
at Night’ project and ‘Wait for a bed’ that
have led to a flurry of activity and clinical developments.
Clinical teams around the country are now in an advanced practice stage.
This new organisation offers a platform for sharing experiences,
ideas and innovations with colleagues from around the country.
Essentially establishing this area as a clinical speciality
and ultimately with the contribution of its members becoming
a national influencing body.
Membership is open to all interested professionals and
in particular:

Practitioners and Coordinators
- Hospital & Clinical
Coordinators

of Nursing & Nurse

Discharge Coordinators
- Bed
Managers & Admissions Coordinators
Nurse Consultants & Nurse Practitioners

Vision:
To grow a vibrant and fully inclusive professional Network
enabling its members to influence the future development
of the role covered by ‘Site Practitioners’.
To be achieved through an elected national Executive Committee.
Aims:
- Develop
a framework for the growth of the Network’s national
profile and membership base.
- Elect
chairperson and executive committee members.
- Establish
links with national professional bodies and Department
of Health.
- Work towards the 2nd National Site Practitioner
conference on 26th March 2006.
- Develop written clinical
standards and written competencies.
- Promote and share
advance practice within the speciality.

Membership Administration and Support:
M&K Update Ltd have agreed to administer and financially
support the Network during the foundation phase. M&K will
provide a centralised base for the Network and will host the
online Bulletin Board. The aim is to work towards the Network
becoming self-financing through membership subscription and
organising events and ultimately finance its own activities.
