The ECG Workshop

Cardiac arrhythmia need quick, simple, effective assessment and management, founded on evidence based knowledge and practical assessment. However, although the patient with a cardiac emergency often present in the acute phase, they may also in many instances have a chronic history underlying this process. This workshop addresses the needs of nurses, doctors and allied health professionals who encounter ECG monitoring and traces, whilst recognising the often chronic nature of these diseases, by building on a knowledge of pathophysiology, assessment, examination, treatment and care.

Pre-Operative Assessment

Becoming a more dynamic speciality - more and more Healthcare Professionals are being encouraged to take on this role due to the reduction in junior doctors working hours and increasing educational opportunities for nurses and allied health professionals. This course serves as an introduction to POA and will assist in providing evidence-based care to improve patient outcomes.

Understanding Blood Results

The course involves requesting and interpretation of routine and defined non-routine blood tests. It is an intensive and thought provoking two days designed to provide an understanding of the pathology for a haematological, biochemical and immunological approach to patient management.

Clinical History Taking & Physical Examination
